Avolino

The “table” or “table” or its smaller version the “coffee table”, are places for doing, thinking, meeting, pleasure, conviviality and a thousand other things.
Because of this multipurpose nature they are always - or almost... - represented by a flat and generic surface, an “empty space” to accommodate everyone and everything and not to disagree with anyone.

Avolino's project was born precisely from the desire to articulate this two-dimensional surface and transform it into a complex, rich, multifaceted and not generic but specific, designed space.
This is how the surface extrudes, divides into sections and gives up some sides of the cubes formed to embrace a multitude of uses, visions, occasions. Horizontal and vertical containers are created for various types of objects and ornaments, surfaces to support or even just space to be perceived thanks to the play of shadow and light that the volumes, full and hollow, are able to provide.

The name “Avolino” derives from the renunciation of the “T” which in shape recalls the table in the usual sense.
